Last Days of Preschool

Ronin attended a Montessori preschool this year– his first experience with school, as my husband & I work opposite shifts so one of us is always home with the kids. Since he didn’t turn 5 until September 11th, he was too young to start kindergarten this year, but he was definitely ready to get out of the house and start learning with other kids and teachers. The plan was to keep him in Montessori through next year, but we found out a few weeks ago that the the school is closing down due to low enrollment and the director’s poor health. Ronin loved his school and it breaks my heart that he won’t be with his small little group of 20 kids and two teachers next year! We finally told him today, and he took it a lot better than I thought he would. We’ll see how it goes next fall when he has to ride the bus by himself. It’s no secret that sometimes these transitions are harder on the parents than the kids!
